Researching new Ice spells at a cooking stove

Fire Mages think that ice is somehow a byproduct of reversing Fire spells. We let them believe that... it keeps them out of our way. But Ice Magic is vast and terribly powerful - Landri

Ice Magic is taught by Landri the Cold after completing a quest based in Kur Tower. To begin this quest, a Prodigy should look for a warning posted directly inside the dungeon. One must also have Level 25 Fire Magic. Ice magic uses devastating attacks, combined with the randomness of weather and the freezing abilities of ice to create a deadly skill with medium-high power cost.

Research Ingredients

The skill can be expensive due to the required ingredients used in spell research: Ice Core, Tundra Lichen, Orcish Spell Pouch and Frost Nib. Note that researching is not a lottery, each recipe can only be completed a number of times so the amount of ingredients required is fixed. The research mechanic simply adds a little randomness to the order in which you receive the abilities.

Ice Core is dropped from various creatures (Cold Elemental in Serbule Crypt, Ice Slick in Under the Hand basement, and more). Tundra Lichen is a ground spawn in Kur Mountains, Orcish Spell Pouch drops from Orcish Thaumaturge and Frost Nib can be obtained from The Sand Seer.
